A study conducted by ISeeCars found both the fastest selling new cars and used cars in the country. In the wake of the ongoing pandemic, it’s taken cars longer to be driven off the lot by eager car buyers. But what’s truly interesting? The cars customers are willing to spend their money on.
According to the study, the days to sell for new cars increased by 67.3 percent in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, while that of used cars increased by 37.5 percent. Houston’s averages are even higher– the average new car remains on a dealer lot in Houston for 89.8 days before it’s purchased. The average used car takes 45.9 to sell.
ISeeCars CEO, Phong Ly said, “the effective demand for these vehicles has slowed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic due to lockdowns and downturns in the economy, but the change was much more dramatic for new vehicles than for used vehicles.”
ISeeCars, conducted a study that analyzed 9 million recent new and used car sales to determine the vehicles that are most quickly sold from dealer lots. The company identified the top 10 fastest-selling used cars across the country. What may come as surprise is that Tesla tops the national list with the most vehicles. The Tesla Model 3, Model X and Model S are included in the top ten.
Houston helped to contribute to that, as the Tesla Model X ranks number three in fastest selling used cars in the city.
The top five fastest selling used cars in Houston include:
- Land Rover Range Rover Velar
- Tesla Model X
- Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
- Audi A7
The top five fastest selling new cars in Houston include:
- Kia Telluride
- Land Rover Range Rover
- Mercedes-Benz GLB
- Hyundai Palisade
- Porsche Cayenne
Pandemic or not, you can’t stop Houston drivers from pulling off the car lot in something that’s sure to turn heads.
